Crazy weather in May. We had a snow storm...and a record 100-degree day. Now the fishing is heating up. I helped with the Okoboji High School PE class and they kept 136 pan fish for a big fish fry. This past weekend three groups caught their fill of giant bluegills for a meal. Then after catching the pan fish each group caught at least 30 northern pike with a few walleyes and bass mixed in. One group caught almost 50 northern pike in just a few hours!!!
HERE ARE SOME GREAT PHOTOS FROM THIS MAY INCLUDING A COUPLE FROM OUR MAY SNOW STORM.
Come see me and learn about the latest Ice Force Products at Bass Pro in Altoona, Iowa this weekend. Friday night You'll be able to see me giving demonstrations in their giant fish tank. Can't wait!!
Won't be long and we'll be on the ice in Okoboji! Here are a few photos and highlights from last season to get your blood pumping. I am currently taking bookings for this ice season. Please call (712) 330-5815 to reserve your date.
Also with Christmas around the corner....there is still time to order gift certificates. They're a great gift idea for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list. The certificates are beautiful and custom made for each recipient.
2012 has been one of the best bites on Okoboji that I've seen in the 12 years that I've been guiding full time. It seems most everyone is catching very nice large and smallmouth bass along with plenty of panfish for a fish fry. The weather has been extremely warm but the bite has held up well. I haven't updated in nearly a month....so I'll let the photos do the talking.
