Its been a great Past few days. The fishing has been wonderful. We have been catching limmits of Giant bluegills. Chris from Omaha put one of the biggest Bass in my boat ever. My cousin from Maine and her family visited and had great luck.
Fishing has been Fantastic here in Okoboji! All of my groups are catching big numbers of fish. Some groups are even catching numbers of big catch and release big fish. Here are the photos from this past week. Unbelievably nice fish being caught. As you can see.....even the panfish are HUGE. Its a great time to be fishing Okoboji !
My son Calvin And I also fished the Berkley 75th Anniversary Fishing tournament on Spirit Lake. Calvin got to rub shoulders with some of the best in the world including Tommy Skarlis and Hank Parker. Calvin tied for Second place in the tournament for Biggest Walleye. But lost the tie breaker and a big screen TV. Darn.
This past week we saw some cooler temperatures. I think it actually helped the bite a bit. Saturday June 2nd we had 4 limmits of nice keeper walleye and Jim from Sioux City had a 20 1/2 inch smallmouth and an 18 incher within 15 minutes. Beautiful Fish!! On Thursday May 31st Matt Sewell caught a Monster largemouth. Just a little over 18 inches but darn near as tall as she was long...HUGE. And Sunday I spend the day on the water with my daughter Hannah. She caught a 9 1/2 inch Bluegill and enough for supper.
